When I discovered Trucy as a character in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, I had the same as Apollo himself -- "Phoenix has a daughter!?" I have to admit, this was what immediately draws my interest to the young magician at first, but after playing through the game, I couldn't help but love Trucy (and the whole story that revolves around Phoenix and her) more and more.

To be honest, I found Trucy to be a very refreshing character/new assistant. After going through the first three games in the series with Maya Fey (Ayasato Mayoi) as the assistant, I've found that Maya kind of became a Sailor Moon-esque character to me. Though I like Maya, she is still annoying to me from time to time. With Trucy, it's different. I found myself drawn to her personality, as well as her relationships with Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice and Kalvier Gavin.

Originally, I wanted to make a shrine for Trucy after I've finished playing the game, but I'm very happy and excited that my application for this fanlisting got approved. Eventually, I am planning to turn this fanlisting into a text-only tribute to Trucy in the future, but of course I'll still run the fanlisting!

About the name

When I was first thinking about the name for this fanlisting, I was leaning towards something that has to do with magicians/magic, since Trucy is a magician after all. Eventually, I settled with Sparkle, because I think not only does it fit the magician image, but it fits Trucy quite nicely as well. To me, Trucy is such an optimistic, bright and energetic character. Even through all that's happened seven years ago, she still kept smiling and a positive outlook on things. This just generates an image in my head that Trucy keeps shinning and sparkling through hardships like a diamond in the rough. (If that makes any sense at all.)

If you're still puzzled by it, perhaps some definitions from dictionary.com will help with your understanding:

spar·kle (noun)
1. a little spark or fiery particle.
2. a sparkling appearance, luster, or play of light: the sparkle of a diamond.
3. brillance, liveliness, or vivacity.

As you can see, the definitions for the word sparkle fits Trucy, especially her personality, quite well. (At least I think so anyway.)

About the layout

As mentioned on the index page, this is layout version one of Sparkle. The layout was created using an artwork found at Court Records, and brushes from BrushworX and Brusheezy. Personally, I like this layout a lot, but the background color kept bothering me. Even though I eventually settled down with this blue/teal color, I'm still not too sure about the choice. Anyway... As always, the visual components of the layout is created and sliced in Photoshop, then hand-coded in Notepad. Since I usually work with both IE and Firefox, the layout should be viewable in both browsers with at least 800 x 600 screen resolution. As for the quotes found in the title/headline of each section, they are from the beginning of the second case in AJ:AA, when Apollo meets Trucy for the second time.
